From January 1, 2010, through December 31, 2010, the American Cancer Society will receive the net proceeds from the sale of the book Squeeky and Louie from the author, F.R Handley. A virtual book tour was just launched and can be accessed by visiting the book's web site and making a request in the comment section.
This charming new addition to the children's literature market was recently published by Handley's daughter, Linda. Her father spent many nights reading Squeeky and Louie to her when she was a child.
Linda is grown now and wants others to share her father's beloved childhood tale. "My life has been touched by cancer many times. I had just attended a benefit for Congressman Doyle. He is a pioneer for cancer legislation. After the event, I knew that I had to find additional ways to support The American Cancer Society. My eyes fell on my father's book on my bookshelf. I decided I would get it published and offer the proceeds to ACS," Linda explained.
Squeeky and Louie is about two little grey mice who have adventures with their friend Gus the Cat. F. R. Handley has authored an entertaining, interactive treasure that's sure to charm and delight kids from 1 to 91. The simple text is joyous and engaging, but this is really a story told through the marvelous illustrations.
