This summer we have also enjoyed Annie Jr. and The Nasty Gnarlies read, by author Keith Graves and preformed by the KVPAC theater company.

All this for a reasonable cost making family fun for the afternoon not only affordable but fun, creative, imaginative and entertaining.

But Katy Visual and Performing Arts Center is so much more than theatrical performances that can be enjoyed alone or with the whole family. They also offer summer camps, arts and crafts, sponsored special events, classes and even a Prekindergarten program.

Classes can range from song, dance, performance and even photography. Classes are available for “Mommy and Me” programs, adults, teens and children. You never know what you will find each season available at the KVPAC center and it is well worth the membership fee to become a member for the year and supports these important programs, but membership is not necessary. You can also participate in these wonderful, inspiring, imaginative and educational programs and performances without a membership.

The mission of Katy Visual and Performing Arts Center is:
Educating: KVPAC believes in providing Arts opportunities for individuals to develop their talents, skills and abilities. This is accomplished through traditional classroom or studio instruction and through innovative applications of arts and academic curriculum.
Healing: KVPAC believes there is a dynamic therapeutic value to the Arts to sustain, nurture, and encourage individuals in varied circumstances. Dedicated “Healing Arts” programs accommodate students of all ages with mental and physical challenges.
Unifying: KVPAC believes in the ability of community Arts experiences to transcend differences based on race, culture, age, gender, and able-bodiness. Programs and events foster an environment of mutual respect, cultural awareness, and encourage community cohesiveness.

Our family is never disappointed in any event that we participate in at KVPAC, from Saturday matinees to special programs, classes and most recently the Grand Opening of their new expanded building and facility. There are exciting things happening in the theater and it’s not only acting!
