July 19 is national hug your kid day. Hugging your children is a nice way to strengthen your relationship and build an improved commitment.

National Hug Your Kid Day was founded by Michelle Nichols  in 2008. Her son passed away suddenly at the age of 8. Michelle speaks of why hugging is so important for human beings.

Here are some local areas to take your child to build a strong on going relationship, give hugs and have fun!

Dutch Wonderland - Dutch Wonderland is recommended for children five and older. Even though there are areas for younger children, it might be wise to go when your child is five and up.

Sesame Place - Sesame Place is very fun and caters to all ages.  The only draw back to Sesame Place is the price. It can get really expensive.

Wildwood Beach - Wildwood offers a lot of fun in the sun. The boardwalk is big and there is always something to do. During the summer, there are fireworks on Friday nights.

Please Touch Museum - Please Touch Museum is an excellent place for small children. There are many different stations and fun things to climb on.

Remember to hug your child everyday but especially on National Hug Your Kid Day!

Thanks for helping to spread the word about Global Hug Your Kids Day. I founded the holiday in 2008. We were in 28 states in 2009 and spread to the Philippines in 2010.
It's such a basic but powerful message. I was being interviewed on TV and the newscaster asked, "So what happens on your holiday?" I told her to stand up - and I hugged her. Her jaw dropped, but that's the point. Check out hugyourkidsday dotcom.
Keep hugging your kids, spouse and loved ones!
