Paul Bunyan Day? Yes, Paul Bunyan Day is Monday, June 28th and its a perfect time to have some family fun all surrounding this legendary figure.
Paul Bunyan is a larger-than-life folk hero lumberjack who embodies frontier vitality. This larger than life legend reportedly "cut his teeth on a peavy pole and grew so fast that one week after being born, he had to wear his father's clothes." His companion was a blue ox named Babe. Children love bigger than life, tall tales and Paul Bunyan definitely fits the bill.

End the fun with a hike in the Rocky Mountain National Park! In the park is a rock formation named Paul Bunyan's Boot (photo). It is located on 'Lumpy Ridge' on the trail to Gem Lake. If you want to hike this trail, drive north from downtown Estes Park on MacGregor Avenue. Cross Hwy. 34 bypass and continue to sharp right turn and sign for MacGregor Ranch. Follow the blacktop ranch road to the parking lot. Trail distance: 1.8 miles
