The World Health Organization has declared the ongoing swine flu crisis to be a level 5 alert on a scale of 6, meaning that it may soon become an all-out pandemic.
In the U.S., the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has confirmed 109 cases, with states confirming an additional 22 cases.
To date, the states affected include New York, Texas, California, South Carolina, Kansas, Massachusetts, Indiana, Ohio, Arizona, Michigan, Nevada, New Jersey, Delaware, Maine, Colorado, Georgia and Minnesota.
Hong Kong became the first Asian country to confirm a case of the swine flu. Cases have also been confirmed in six European nations, Canada, New Zealand and Israel.
And on Friday, Mexico's chief epidemiologist, Dr. Miguel Angel Lezana, accused the World Health Organization (WHO) of being slow to respond to the initial swine flu crisis, thereby allowing the virus to spread, a claim the WHO disputes. (Sources: Yahoo News)
So how can anyone dispute the validity of the swine flu? Well, it seems some are crying foul (or should it be swine?) over the crisis.
In an article on Mercola online, the author states, "I suspect you have likely been alarmed by the media's coverage of the swine flu scare. It has a noticeable subplot - preparing you for draconian measures to combat a future pandemic as well as forcing you to accept the idea of mandatory vaccinations. On April 27, Time magazine published anarticle which discusses how dozens died and hundreds were injured from vaccines as a result of the 1976 swine flu fiasco, when the Ford administration attempted to use the infection of soldiers at Fort Dix as a pretext for a mass vaccination of the entire country.
Despite acknowledging that the 1976 farce was an example of “how not to handle a flu outbreak”, the article still introduces the notion that officials 'may soon have to consider whether to institute draconian measures to combat the disease'."
Numerous other websites and blogs are claiming that the swine flu is a hoax, or perhaps a governmental or world conspiracy, such as the following:

So what's the deal? Is this just a vast conspiracy or a world gone nuts over what may essentially be a bad cold?
I will say this - according to the website FluFacts.com, in the U.S., an estimated 25–50 million cases of the flu (influenza, not the swine flu) are currently reported each year — leading to 150,000 hospitalizations and 30,000–40,000 deaths yearly. If these figures were to be estimated incorporating the rest of the world, there would be an average of approximately 1 billion cases of flu, around 3–5 million cases of severe illness, and 300,000–500,000 deaths annually.
Flu-related deaths can result from pneumonia and from exacerbations of cardiopulmonary conditions and other chronic diseases. Deaths of older adults account for more than 90% of deaths attributed to pneumonia and influenza.
So we are all just overreacting when the truth is that standard influenza is far more deadly than the swine flu has so far proven to be? Perhaps.
We each have to draw our own conclusions, I suppose. But I would suggest educating yourself about it via reputable websites like the CDC. Read the other sources of information out there. And decide how you feel about it. (But I'd still cover your mouth when you sneeze.)

Wow, way to cite serious, responsible blogs there!
Then you tell people to get their info from CDC.
Cognitive dissonance, or what?!?
What I cannot understand is how can a virus change it's DNA to combine three different strains: swine-flu, avian-flu, and human-flu. Does the "swine" virus sneak around playing hanky-panky with the "avian" variety, producing an offspring of "swine-avian flu"? And then the "swine-avian" go flirting after the "human" strain to produce offspring with the three separate DNA genes? I don't think so! This sounds more like human gene manipulation to me and I wonder if anyone from the CDC can come up with a more definitive answer. But whatever the answer, if a person keeps themself relatively healthy, there is nothing to worry about. As for "swine" flu, it sounds like a lot of "hog-wash" to me.
Hoax is an awfully strong word. In fact it is disturbing that in your article there is no support whatsoever for the idea that it might be a hoax. I agree that there is lots of hype and that the threat is likely being exaggerated. For someone to believe it is a hoax they'd have to believe that the CDC, the WHO, the Mexican government, all our State health agencies, the health agencies of dozens or other countries, and uncountable scientists and doctors are involved in some grand conspiracy.
Calling it a hoax in the headline and then failing to back it up is the height of journalistic malpractice. Shame. A responsible headline would have been "Is Swine Flu Overhyped?"
I don't see how the CDC can count the 1 death in Texas as a US case. That child was already sick, not a US citizen, and was brought here from Mexico. Is Mexico counting that child as a Mexican citizen death?? I think that is poor accounting in my book!
There is yet another motive for the hoax that hasn't been mentioned yet.
Hoaxes of this sort usually have more than just social engineering as a motive.
As they design hoaxes they don't just want to change opinions and enslave people, above all they want to move a lot of money into a few pockets.
Examples are Haliburton, Enron, Military contractors etc etc etc.
Immunization will probably be free to the public but no telling what will be in the syringes.
I will refuse.
But what's being marketed big time in conjunction with the flu hoax is an antiviral agent called Tamiflu.
It's not even that effective against type A flu virus and some viruses have already developed resistance to it. In a case of widespread innoculation the current flu outbreak will quickly become resistant.
But Tamiflu is being hailed as the one essential drug for combatting the expected epidemic.
Why????
First off for profits. Hoffman Laroche will make billions off of this hoax through the sale of Tamiflu.
What's more, Tamiflu side effects mimic those of SSRI antidepressants. The drug increases paranoia, suicide ideation, violence or bizarre behavior, etc.
In a flu hoax, widespread use of Tamiflu will serve to intensify the tendancy towards panic and disorder, thereby "justifying" martial law type repression of liberty.
The CDC is not a reputable source. The CDC is a propaganda tool of the corrupt administration.
Mass mandated vaccinations are just a form of government pork given to pharmatech companies. Anyone with a brain can tell that doctors just "try stuff" on their victims and look to see what works and what doesn't. They don't really know as much as they would have us think as they stand in a God-like pose on a soapbox looking down on the rest of us.
Nobody is sticking me with any government needles. I own my body not them. If they want to argue about that then there is going to be trouble.
Amazing how much distrust for the US government I read here. The more they try to calm the herd, the more nervous it seems to get! There is a lot of sentiment about conspiratorial fascism. Then again, Lenin said that "Fascism is capitalism in decline". Perhaps Lenin was a little smarter than we have been led to belive.
As to the comment above about tamiflu side effects I see all sorts of parallels between hollywood movies and real life. It's like the elite are trying to send us subliminal messages or something. In any case, in the movie "Serenity", the government of a terraformed world named Miranda used an airborne pacification agent named G-23 Paxilon Hydrochlorate or "Pax" in order to keep the people calm and submissive like good little slaves. If you saw the movie you know it didn't work out well for the people.
I suspect it never does.
"Sure as I know anything, I know this: they will try again. Maybe on another world, maybe on this very ground swept clean. A year from now, 10, theyll swing back to the belief that they can make people . . . better. And I do not hold to that. So no more running. I aim to misbehave."

Clearly no one has put two an two together...24 million in campaign contributions and a payback is in order. Who had a substantial foot print in Mexico prior to this out break based on visitation schedules....very simple to look up...we did!
alright its time that people get their heads off of the falling economny and tell them that there is a crazy disease and to stay home and not travel around because you will get this disease. stay home spend your money in your little town grocery stored eating test tube produce and fruits. spend your money localy and travel locally. a scam from the goverment and someone to place the blame on thing, President Obama(mr.Antichrist)trying to save the world and mankind, sorry it is to late global warming is already in-reverseable, and there is nothing we can do to stop it. so goverments decide to send out or construct disease to make us feel a bit more miniscule in this world, soon we will be inplanting GPS into our skulls so the goverment can find us where ever we are. NWO keep trying your not getting me. and as for swine flu, ill just chug a bottle of rye and sleep for a day! thats looking to you kid!, Chef spicy.
funny we haven't see any victims of the flu yet or any family from those who died! kep up the crappy work goverment. EH!

CBS News Research Links Kids Vaccines & Brain Damage
October 9, 2009
A new scientific safety study by British researchers Dr Laura Hewitson and Dr Andrew Wakefield shows US childrens vaccines are linked to brain damage: Delayed Acquisition of Neonatal Reflexes in Newborn Primates Receiving A Thimerosal-containing Hepatitis B Vaccine: influence of gestational age and birth weight Journal of NeuroToxicology.
An earlier September 2008 study found that US boys who received the hepatitis B vaccine had a 9 times higher chance of developmental disabilities than unvaccinated boys.

The FDA estimates that under the most positive circumstances, there will be about 30,000 Americans killed by swine flu injections.
They seem unbothered by this outcome. Nor by the hundreds of thousands whom they estimate will be sickened, crippled or ma
