Are you stuck at home with a baby or a toddler, maybe a few babies and toddlers, and wish you could go to the movie theater like old times? Is the babysitter busy? Have you tried to go to the movie theater with your toddlers, only to have to clean a bag of popcorn off of the floor, and chase your toddlers as they run up and down the steps? Or were your toddlers scared of the dark, the strange folding seats, or loud noises? And when you finally got back to the car, did they beg to watch a Disney movie on the car DVD player? (oh, the comfort of their car seats!) (a $7.00 bag of popcorn later).
Well, look no further. Goochland County is building an old-fashioned drive in movie theater with double feature movies with adult admission of only $7.00, and concessions and classic American food starting at $2.00. Kids under 12 are $3.00, and babies are free!
Picture you and your hubby enjoying a movie as your baby rests peacefully in the backseat. Ah, bliss.
The drive-in theater in Goochland is under construction now and is scheduled to be opened this month.
The location in Goochland County is a perfect location for both Richmond and Charlottesville families.
The drive in theater will also host classic car shows, a kids’ playground, retro movie nights and community oriented events.
The drive in movie theater is John and Kristina Heidel’s dream, which they are actualizing while giving back to the community. They have been living in Goochland County since 2000, and have two children.
