Backyard ponds, filled with water lilies, plants and maybe even fish- in the desert?
You bet. And if you don't believe it, you can see for yourself tomorrow.
Saturday May 15 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm the Greater Phoenix Pond Society's 14th annual Pond Tour showcases twelve home ponds of Society members. The event is a free, self-guided tour to promote interest in and provide information about backyard ponds and to promote membership in the pond society. The pond society is an informal marketplace for ideas as well as plant swapping.
Eight of the ponds are in the East Valley and four and in central and north Phoenix. Click here for map of the twelve ponds.
If you go with younger children, please watch them carefully around water.

Wow! This one flew under my radar. I have a pond, and Koi...which means I go spend money on plants...and Dolph (my large Koi) promptly eats them. I go buy more, and pot them better...Dolph knocks over the plant and chomps happily. I try to put them just on the perimeter...and he STILL manages to get them. I think he is in cahoots with my cats... But I DO indeed love my pond...This should be a great event! Thanks for the heads up and I will link your page to mine today! ;)
