Spring brings sunshine and brisk breezes, the perfect weather for flying kites.
If you love to fly kites, or love to watch someone else fly a kite, come down to Milwaukee’s Veterans Park on May 23rd and 24th for the 22nd annual Family Kite Festival.
The Family Kite Festival is sponsored by the Kite Society of Wisconsin-Illinois and the Gift of Wings shop.
From 10a-6p Saturday and 10a-5p Sunday, the lakeshore will be filled with kites of all shapes and sizes. You can spend the entire day watching amazing aerial feats by skilled kite flyers.
During the event, not only will there be mind-boggling kite tricks but also there will be a parade of kites, a grand kite launch with over 500 kites and many other kite related activities for children and adults.
Receive tips and techniques for getting your own kite launched (and how to keep it in the air) or watch your little ones make their own kite.
In addition, you can watch as the Chicago Fire Kite team performs.
Many local and national sport kite teams and individuals will also be performing, you will be amazed at the tricks they can do with their kites.
Not only is the Kite Festival itself free, but plenty of free parking is available. Food and beverages will be available on site. In case you can’t make it down to the lakeshore, the event is live via the internet.
