Kensington Metropark is hosting Heron Days on Saturday, May 22, and Sunday, May 23, from noon until 4 p.m.
Using spotting scopes along the Wildwing Lake boardwalk, you can view the Great Blue Herons flying and taking care of their young at the nests.
The Nature Center provides additional fun with Rosco the Clown, live insects on display, a book sale, and a native tree and shub sale.
Photographer Ted Nelson will also be selling and signing copies of his book, "Nature of Kensington."
Event programs will cover the new threat of Asian long-horned beetles, a "No Child Left Inside" program promotion, and local beekeeper Shawn Shubel, of Nectar Sweet Apiaries, will discuss honey bees.
Representatives from Michigan Sea Grant, Six Rivers Regional Land Conservancy, Livingston Land Conservancy, the Detroit Science Center, Sierra Club, Wildernest, Huron Valley Council Boy Scouts and Riders Hobby Shop will be available to provide information and answer questions.
The event is free for all ages.
Kensington Metropark is located at 2240 W. Buno Rd., in Milford.
