If you're not already familiar with this event, it's not your average little yard sale put together by a few neighbors...it's a HUGE yard sale and it's full of amazing consignment deals and gently used "new" stuff for your little ones, from clothing to toys!
As the economy tightens and our kids keep outgrowing their cute little duds, The Charleston Repeats Children's Seasonal Consignment Event is a great chance to sort through other mom's closets in a way, finding great deals for the summer and even next fall and winter.
If you're a first time mom, or pregnant or in the process of adopting, you'll have the special privilege of an invite to the Pre-Sale Bash on Wednesday, April 15 from 8:00pm to 10:00pm. It's a great chance to shop before the masses descend and get the choice of the best stuff.
Another way to get into the Pre-Sale Bash is to volunteer. In 4-hour shifts, you'll be assigned to sorting and other organizational tasks. Depending on how much you volunteer, you'll have the earliest of access to the merchandise before they open the doors to the general public!
And if you have kid stuff hanging out at your house that you wish was in someone else's living room, consider being a consignee. The procedure is detailed on their website, but basically consists of dropping off your stuff before the event, set the price for your own items, earn 65% of the marked value, pick up whatever was not sold (or designate those leftovers to be donated) and then in two weeks you'll receive a check in the mail.
Pretty easy and much less of a hassle than putting stickers all over things in your garage at 6am on a rainy Saturday!
The sale is at the National Guard Armory in Mount Pleasant at 245 Mathis Ferry Road, and opens to the public at 10am on Thursday and Friday, April 16-17 until 7pm, and again on Saturday April 18 from 11am-5pm (with 50% of some items on this day!)
Have fun and be sure to bring either a laundry basket or some of those environmentally-great shopping bags they sell everywhere, because I'm pretty sure you're going to find some great deals on adorable stuff!
