Public parks and church lawns will be transformed into an Easter wonderland as egg hunts kick-off this weekend. Here is your guide to the wildest and mildest hunts ever!
Douglasville
Flashlight Easter Egg Hunt:
Kids ages 7 and older are invited to bring baskets and flashlights to Deer Lick Park on Friday, April 3rd for the annual Flashlight Easter Egg Hunt. Cost is $3 per child and begins at 8pm. 2105 Mack Road Douglasville, Georgia. Click here for more info
Acworth
Acworth Egg Drop:
Cauble Park will be showered with over 25,000 eggs courtesy of a helicopter (which will drop 5,000 of those eggs) and volunteers. The city of Acworth and locally- based Freedom Church invite children ages 0-12 to track down plastic eggs filled with tiny toys and candy. The hunt begins at 10am Saturday, April 4th. Egg hunt groups will be divided into ages 5 and under, 6 to 8, and 9 to 12. Acworth United Methodist Church will have a rock-climbing wall for kids, and you can take home a picture with the Easter bunny for five dollars. Cost of the event is free. Decatur
Easter Egg Hunt:
Downtown Decatur square lends its verdant lawns to this annual event sponsored by the Decatur Business Association. The fun starts at 10:30 am Saturday, April 4th with the arrival of the Easter bunny. Youngsters ages toddler to fifth grade are welcome. Cost is free and children will need to bring their own baskets. Decatur Square at West Ponce De Leon Avenue and Clairmont Avenue. For more information on this event click here

Eggstravaganza at Callanwolde Fine Arts Center:
Callanwolde hosts this eggceptional event complete with an egg hunt, live bunnies, face painting, and more! The fun starts at 10:30 am on Saturday, April 11. Egg hunt areas have been divided into age groups of 2 and younger, 3-5, and 6 and older. The Easter Bunny will be in the main house for photo opportunities, so remember to bring your camera. Free parking (there will be no parking provided on Callanwolde property) and shuttles are available. Cost is $10 per child and proceeds benefit the Callanwolde dance program. 980 Briarcliff Road N.E. Wow! I want to try the flashlight egg hunt.
The flashlight one sounds like a real hoot, but I'd also like to watch the kids running around willy-nilly holding up their baskets under the helicopter!!
