Spa-Di-Da puts a 'beautiful' twist on the traditional kiddie birthday party

At Spa-Di-Da, kids get the full salon treatment. Here, a pink pedicure is finished off with blue heart decals.
Erin has never been girly. She likes dolls and the color pink, but if there's ever a choice between a football and a pair of ballet shoes, she goes for the pigskin every time. So when we were invited to her cousin's 7th birthday party last week at this brand new boutique nail spa that's exclusively for kids, I thought she'd be entertained, but not excited. But when we arrived, there were butterfly stickers and tiny pedicure stations. A karoke machine that played Bippidy-Boppidy-Boo. Ten minutes in, my little tomboy was air-waving her pink fingernails and having a pillow fight with cotton strips laced between her toes.

The place? Spa-di-da, a newly opened, very pink day spa in Staten Island that completely caters to kids' parties and mother-daughter days of beauty. A two-hour party starts at $359. The girls get manicures, pedicures, pizza and cake. They can be-dazzle their own T-shirts, snack on cupcakes and sparkling cider and really experience a true trip to the salon. A tiny purse full of pink and purple nail polishes and glittery emery boards is the take-home favor.

Just enough pink accessories to turn Erin off football for good.

For more information on Spa-di-da, visit their site, www.spa-di-da.com or call 718-356-PARTY (7278). The salon is located at 4108 Hylan Blvd., Staten Island, NY.

this place is a rip off joke. it is so filthy dirty and so overpriced for what the give you. snacks for the kids was a bowl of chips on the table. thats it. they are not given flip flops to wear after their pedicure so they walk barefoot on a floor that looks like its never been cleaned. the nail art falls off the second you leave. hair is just sprayed with a can of .35cent color spray. and cash is the only method of payment accepted and yes it is taxed. even the food they get i.e., pizza and cake is taxed as well!If you want to be taken on a very expensive ride then this is the place for you.otherwise dont even bother wasting your time and money.

This has to be the worst place I could ever recommend to have a little girls birthday at!!! The place is an absolute RIP OFF............ It is so filty and unprofessional. There is no activities forthe girls to do while they wait to get done. It took 3 showers to get the colored spray out of my daughters head and thats with scrubbing it as hard as I could. They only accept cash but don't tell you that in advance and then have the nerve to ask for tips with what they charge it should include it.....The nail art falls off before you even get home. the make-up is filthy, they put water in a bucket for the pedicure and then have the kids walk around with no shoes on. The only snacks are a bowl of pretzels and chips. When Icalled to speak to the owner shedidn't even have the decency to call me back, but why would she care she already robbed me for my money. Total waste, not reccommended

She and her husband ripped me off as well. I bet I am the one who gave her the money to open her place up. They are both con artists, leeches. Her parents are just as bad. They live off other people. Don't go to her place of business. Don't suppport thieves of Staten Island.
