Zoo World is a successful Facebook game by developer RockYou, with a goal of building and decorating a zoo. The majority of the game is a collection to see how many animals players can collect. Animals can be collected as gifts, from rescuing them from neighbor's wall posts, or by breeding them. This guide will take an in-depth look at breeding animals in Zoo World and help you be the best Zoo World breeder.
To start out, click on the "Breed" tab within Zoo World. You will then see your available nests. Each nest can be used to breed one animal, and everyone starts out with one nest. Players can unlock new nests by inviting their neighbors to be ZooMates. Zoomates will unlock more nests.

Select a nest that you would like to breed animals in, and then pick which animal you would like to breed. Every player starts with the ability to breed Bald Eagles, and they are fairly easy to breed. Once you've done that, the animal is beginning to be bred. Baby animals will need food when they are born, so it's important to click the button that says "post when my baby needs food." This will automatically tell your friends on Facebook that your new baby animal needs food to survive, and allows them to click and help you feed your animal while you are away. If you don't do this and you're too late, your baby animal will need to go to the hospital.
Once an animal is completely born and healthy, you can then transfer your baby animal to your zoo. This is where the cycle begins again! You now have an empty nest that you can fill with another mating pair to breed another animal. Every time you breed a certain type of animal, you earn mastery towards and achievement in that animal type. Breeding in Zoo World isn't too difficult, but animals do have a difficulty level on them. Difficult animals take longer to breed and require food more often. Having ZooMates will help this process.

Earning Achievements has a huge benefit, because you earn Wildlife Points. Wildlife Points are needed for almost everything, from rare animals to different decorations and buildings for your Zoo. Aside from paying real money for them, Wildlife Points are difficult to come by. Make sure to make decisions wisely when spending Wildlife Points, because they are slow to get.
Here are some additional tips to get you started:
Make sure to always help your friends by feeding their babies when they post. If you help your friends, you earn a Growth Formula that you can use on your own baby animals to make them grow faster. It's also nice to help other people because your chance of getting help is higher if you're nice to others.
Breed your rare animals, they will earn you more Wildlife Points and money if you do. As soon as you have two rare ones, go ahead and breed them!
Breed as many animals of different types that you can, to earn all of the Wildlife Points and Achievements that you can.
