Frogster Interactive have announced today at the Game Developers Conference 2010 in San Francisco, CA that they will be releasing a product on Facebook based on their popular free-to-play MMORPG Runes of Magic.
Frogster announced that this new game would be set in the same universe, but be separate from the MMO itself. It will be titled Runes of Magic - The Challenge, and will feature "adventure, exploration, and strategy elements". It is expected to launch in Q2 of 2010.
In addition, Runes of Magic will soon be enabling Facebook Connect as a method for registering and logging into the game. This could be huge potential for viral growth, with the ability to post in-game activity on Facebook and invite friends to play the game.
