Jungle Extreme is a relatively new game on Facebook, and as of the first week in March has over 1.5 million monthly active users. The game has been growing quickly and spreading rapidly through constant wall posts from friends. The game is actually pretty fun, so here is a brief review of what a player can expect to find when they play for the first time.
Jungle Extreme is another farming game, along the same lines as Farmville, Island Life, Tiki Farm, Farm Town, and others. The main difference between Jungle Extreme and other games is that it is in a jungle setting. The game starts out by having players pick their gender and then customize their avatar to look however they would like. The customization options are simple, but more than a lot of Facebook games have. Clearly, they are going to be experimenting with sales of avatar clothing and accessories.

Jungle Extreme then starts players with a simple plot of crops, and a short tutorial that teaches them how to play. It teaches how to buy crops, harvest crops, sell them, and add neighbors. Like most Facebook games, adding neighbors is a key point of the game. Having neighbors allows players to earn more XP and level up faster. Jungle Extreme is also pushing gifts heavily, and players are given a new daily gift every day to grant to their friends. Unfortunately, it's clear that some users are sending too much, because Facebook has limited Jungle Extreme to only 12 total requests per day. This means neighbors have to choose between adding/inviting neighbors and sending gifts, and only have 12 total.

The game is also quite nice looking. Their UI is fairly standard, but their splash screens are gorgeous and their in-game art has a nice aesthetic. It's vector style art, with clean smooth lines, bright colors, and a fun appeal.
On the negative side, this game is incredibly spammy. Absolutely everything in the game asks players to share with friends. The game lets players spam their wall, friends' walls, and is constantly trying to get players to share gifts. It feels over-the-top and constant, and can be a bit frustrating. Also, they have other mechanics that are frustrating such as allowing neighbors to steal items from each other. Players then have to buy a scarecrow with real money to stop people from stealing from them. They also can buy upgraded thieves bags so they can steal more from people. This may be something that players will dislike, as it makes having neighbors a negative thing if the person doesn't like stealing.
We're excited to see where this game goes. Are you looking for neighbors in Jungle Extreme? If you are, leave a comment here with your Facebook name so people can add you as a friend and a neighbor in Jungle Extreme!
