Every now and then, Zynga put out a great podcast for Farmville that runs down all the latest news and upcoming features in Farmville. It is a great resource that just about any Farmville player can benefit from. Not only do they talk about the latest news, they also answer questions from players and do sneak previews on upcoming releases. If you're a hardcore Farmville player, you should be listening! Here is a quick rundown on what this week's podcast talked about, but make sure to watch the video below!
St. Patrick's Day:
Farmville released a new pot-of-gold feature on Thursday, giving players the ability to send their friends a pot of gold that can be redeemed for special surprises. When a player opens a gift box, they'll see a free pot of gold to place on their farm. You can then collect gold and compare with friends. There is a new "ask for gold" feature that lets you ask people to send you gold to collect, and players can send gold to friends on their "free gifts" page. For every 5 pieces of gold you get, you'll be able to offer 1 gold piece to your friends on your wall. Click on "progress" in the pot-of-gold menu will show how many gold pieces you have compared with your friends.
New ways to find fuel:
Now, in addition to purchasing fuel for vehicles or finding it in mystery boxes and eggs, you can now find fuel when plowing your farm or fertilizing a neighbor's farm. If you find fuel (can find once per day) you can share with your friends by posting on your wall. 150 friends will be able to click on your wall post and get fuel (the amount they get depends how big their farm is). You can also find fuel once per day for each farm that you fertilize. Fuel will now regenerate at a slower rate, based on how many plots you have. If you have opinions on this, comment here!
New Farmville game cards:
Farmville game cards will now be available in 7/11 and Best Buy stores! These can be purchased as gifts for others or kept for yourself.
Farm of the Week:
The Farmville community manager has clarified that the Farm of the Week is chosen based on a variety of criteria, and it has to be a good looking farm. They are not necessarily looking for hay bale art, they are interested in just having a good looking farm.
Farm Hands:
Farm Hands are a one-time use item that will harvest all of your animals at once. These can be purchased from the market for 5 Farm Cash.
Coming Soon:
They are fine tuning mastery, achievements, and leveling. They are also working on better ways to allow players to communicate with players. Farmville are also releasing limited edition St. Patrick's Day Mystery Boxes.
