The Alberta Indoor Cycling Center will be holding a fundraiser at Shanks south in Calgary on March 20, 2010.  The popular sports bar is located at 9627 Macleod Trail South.  The event will begin at 6pm and will go into the wee hours of the morning for those who dare.  There will be a buffet served at 7pm and also featured will be a silent auction, a 50/50 draw and lots of games.  For a nominal ten dollar fee you can have plenty of fun and partake in all the events.

Fifty percent of all ticket sales and one hundred percent of all other funds raised will go towards funding the proposed cycling center.  The center will focus on the five Olympic disciplines of cycling;  Bmx racing, cross country and downhill mountain biking, road cycling, and velodrome racing.  The AICC will also use membership fees and future sponsorship opportunities to fund the facility.

Cyclists and supporters of all cycling disciplines are encouraged to come out to Shanks to support a great cause and spend some time with friends, uniting cyclists of all disciplines.  Contact Mike Nelson at 403 464 7884 or email him at mike.nelson@albertaindoorcycling.com.  Mike and the other members of the AICC board of directors are volunteers who have been involved with the bmx racing community in Alberta for many years.
