On Saturday June 25th2011, Seth from All-A-Board skate shop took over the Puyallup Skatepark for his annual Throw Down in P-town skate competition. It was definitely a good day for it with the sun shining down and temps in the mid 70’s. About 30 competitors took to the park like a pack of wolves and attacked every ramp, rail and staircase. From what I here there was already a pack of 20 skaters there practicing before he even arrived for the set up. The comp was broken down into 3 divisions Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced along with a best trick off the spine contest which was open to everyone with Andrew putting up $100 for the contest. It was good to see some first time beginners out there and they looked like they are progressing pretty fast with lots of rail slides and ollies of the boxes. It was an all out war in the Intermediate class between Trevor Vulk and Thomas Waldron with Trevor pulling it out for the win. But the show was definitely the advanced class with big airs, long grinds, lots of flip tricks, and huge ollies of the ramps. It was so tight that 1st through 3rd was only separated by 6 points and ties for 4ths and 5ths but all in all Andrew Christenson would pull out his bag of tricks and beat out the competition for the win with Jake Pogue coming in 2nd by just 1 point. Stay tuned for the next competition which is Kentacopia on I believe July 9th at the east side Kent skatepark. Hopefully Seth will be involved with that one as well so we can make sure it will be as good as the Throw down in P-town but either way I am sure it will be a spectacular event .
