SPY PHOTOS: BMW hybrid unique ultra-luxe sports car heads to Frankfurt Motor Show in Germany

Spy photos of the new red BMW 'Green' ultra-luxe sports model with exotic car design influences

Here's the latest spy photos and article review released by Autoblog.com about the new lean, MEAN GREEN BMW ultra-luxe sports car derived from various exotic car influences getting ready to make it's first public appearance at the Frankfurt Auto Show in Germany. Thanks for sharing guys... you reminded me why I love BMWs -- and took me emotionally on a road trip down memory lane to when I was first introduced to the BMW Z8 at 130mph on a sunny afternoon winding through the Blue Ridge mountains (allegedly... *cough* ... Exotic Car Examiner pleads the 5th). Special thanks to Italianizzato Club member and friend Bill Santelli for giving us the shout that these new spy photos were out.

Autoblog.com reports:

It looks like someone at BMW is going to be in big trouble shortly. It appears that what we are looking at here is the concept car that the German automaker expected to unveil at the Frankfurt Motor Show next month as it is loaded up for transport. The new design study is reportedly some sort of sustainable sports car concept and is likely to include a variety of the brand's Efficient Dynamics technologies. Judging from the size of the vehicle shown in the snapshots from our friends at Bimmerpost, this show car may well give us a strong indication of the design direction for the next-generation 3 Series which is just two years away. Judging by the visible cut-line of the door in the lower middle of the car, this may a four door, likely of the "four door coupe" persuasion, or perhaps a touring-style hatchback.

We may well be seeing some of the rumored powertrain for the new 3 including a turbocharged three-cylinder engine and some sort of hybrid drive system. Style wise, the concept appears to retain the elongated headlights that have appeared on the new Z4, 7 and 5 Series models, but with an even shorter front overhang. With the expected emphasis on aerodynamics for the new 3, it looks like the base of the windshield has moved forward giving the glass more rake than the current car. Oh, and that high-riding stance? We're assuming that's a byproduct of shipping block wedges, not actual design intent. We hope.

IT AIN'T EASY BEING GREEN

People over 40 who have been firmly entrenched in the 20th century auto dealership business think I'm kidding when I say the way to gain public support for your brand in the 21st century is to create a unique line of halo vehicles that qualify as ultra-luxe or high performance sports car exotics.
Because I walk a fine generational line between the Baby Boomer generations that grew up on raw fuel power and the Gen Y and Gen ME generations who are growing up wanting to be like Barak Obama and "Change the world one person at a time by the use of eco-friendly technology", I'm caught between worlds where popular opinion varies radically based on age, socio-economic status, education, and gender. With the popularity of the concept of auto makers developing green exotic cars on the rise with generations whose ages are well under 40, old school exotic auto dealerships are looking shortsightedly at the fact that many of these young stars and celebs and their juvenile, twenty-something, and thirty-something friends have not had enough time yet on the professional pond to be qualified buyers in the industry.
Smart dealerships and automakers who plan to be in business fro the next 100 years (as opposed to the next 10) are taking the Green Trend in buyers market appeal quite seriously. Forward thinking companies who car about the auto industry to come and realize that future technology for mass production in 10, 25, 50, and 100 years needs to be researched extensively and heavily developed in special science and engineering labs now are launching more R&D initiatives and coming up with some fairly spectacular new products that the world will be able to see by or before 2016.
Sales professionals who understand the art of branding know how to subtly inform their clients about their marquee's socially responsible investment into developing new green technology. As such, they elevate the customers knowledge of the product and the history of each unique auto manufacturer's historical thinking -- and can use the educational "teaching moments" to help build customer loyalty and future market interest in vehicles that may be available by the time the client buys the current vehicle now and trades it back in to any boutique auto dealership from the same brand in the future (as the company produces cleaner, meaner, green exotic car technology).
