Unique Porsche 997 GT3 Cup S racer  built to play dirty off road --

If you seek speed, thrills, and excitement without all the pomp and circumstance of the track, think about racing custom sports cars -- and wandering off road.

The Smoking Tire turned us on to this dirty movie -- of a Porsche track queen tearing Pike's Peak up when she hits the dirt.

Regarding the following video, they write:

While everyone’s attention this past weekend at Pike’s Peak was focused primarily on the overall record attempts, some other records were actually broken, including one by Jeff Zwart, who destroyed Rhys Millen’s previous record time of 12:09.40, in his Hyundai Genesis Coupe, with a 11:31.095 in his Porsche 997 Cup.

A friend of the site was fortunate enough to send over some in-car video from Zwart’s qualifying run.

Watch how hard to control the Porsche looks once it hits the dirt!

The video is fierce and cracked us up.

It is almost impossible to watch it without clenching your teeth, wincing a bit at the transmission whine, and back peddling on an imaginary car floor.

A Porsche 997 Cup is based on the road going GT3 RS sports car says Ultimate Car Page.

In the past, it has been created exclusively for racing purposes.

Built in Weissach, Germany (pronounced Vi-Sock) -- a mecca for Porsche people -- it was engineered specifically to race in international motorsports championships.

Races where the cars are featured are run according to FIA GT3 regulations.

The cost to own one of these marvels?

If you know someone, $250,000 + Euros should get the job done.

This looks just like my daily commute, but with dirt, counter-steering, high speed and danger. And it's missing stop lights, (except at the end). Other than that, exactly the same.
