Bugatti automobile designers have never lacked ambition or drive. From the time the company was first founded under the direction of Ettore Bugatti to its modern operations under the auto manufacturing umbrella of the Volkswagen Group, the exotic car company has produced some of the very best future cars in the world. That passion for excess with regard to looks and performance has certainly kept pace with the new brand darling, one hot car called the Galibier super sedan.
Autoblog reports, "Not only will the Galibier be very exclusive and very costly, British magazine CAR is reporting that the W16 engine from the Veyron will be ported over with its dual-clutch gearbox, albeit with a twist – it will also be available with optional hybrid power."
According to the auto enthusiasts website, "The dual-power system is being developed because an increasing number of metropolitan city centers are taking steps to curb or ban internal combustion cars firing up in downtown areas, and Bugatti owners aren't exactly the type to take mass transit."
The marque's new president and CEO, Wolfgang Durheimer has confirmed the auto design project is still in the earliest stages of its development. There has been no verification of the supercar's final dimensions or for the chassis construction. Why? Because it sounds like designers still have not agreed about the exact look, dimensions, or performance features that will be safe for clientele riding in such a high class vehicle.
Not yet settled upon = code for really not into designing a supercar that will either turn off or kill the Billionaire Boys Club clientele in spectacular wrecked exotic car fashion?
However, not withstanding and current internal debate with the company, the Galibier super sedan design expected to be finalized (with luck) by or before Fall of 2012.
Exotic auto gossip about the car among dealers interested in trading investment grade automobiles confirms Autoblog's news report about the new Bugatti supercar. They are on the money with the claim, "the the leading architectures in contention are a carbon monocoque like the Veyron or possibly an aluminum spaceframe."
Which material would you rather see become part of the new Bugatti Galibier design?
Sound off in the comments section below.
Either way, you are probably looking at a window sticker price of 1.62 million dollars for the limited production supercar if you are stroking the check or willing to swipe that American Express Black Card to buy one at any of the car company's global dealerships.
