EXOTIC CARS INSPIRE AFTERMARKET CUSTOM AUTOMOBILE PARTS SECTOR
Aftermarket parts and custom retro fit "ultra luxury car items" can be really cool -- especially if you live like a rock music star but want some privacy, too.
A variation of the concept Ferrari introduces in their 612 glass roof for sun control, the window tint made by American Glass Products (AGP) could come in very handy for Hollywood elites to use.
Take that TMZ! Our celebrity hats off to you if you can devise a camera lens that can see through to shoot.
WINDOW TINT LAWS CAN'T HURT CELEBRITY CAR DRIVERS ANYMORE: REMOTE CONTROL WINDOWS THAT GO DARK WITH THE PUSH OF A BUTTON MAKE TOTAL PRIVACY POSSIBLE
It sounds like a Star Trek type concept car joke, right? But it's not.
Mercedes-Benz and Maybach have played with the Ferrari technology, too.
AGP is just the company that's making the feature available to everyday stars (and folks like the rest of us reading transportation news here today, too.)
Have cameras in your window snapping candid or embarrassing tabloid pictures of your famous face? All it takes a celebrity click of a button and PRESTO -- your car windows shift from transparent to opaque looking in from the outside in a micro-second.
REMOTE CONTROL WINDOWS AVAILABLE FOR CUSTOM CARS
A company called American Glass Products have designed the new product called Vario Plus and are starting to bring it to market at a variety of auto shows and conventions.
Here's how it's done.
If you watch the video below, you will see the windows are controlled by a simple on off button and the exotic car inspired features can be installed in almost any kind of luxury or performance sports car.
[NOTE: The roof glass is controlled by a hardwired dial in the Ferrari 612.]
When the car is in normal traffic, the tint shield option can be turned off.
Pull up to the red carpet and need a moment of primping before your arrival? No problem.
Shields on, fix hair and makeup, kiss your date, and shields off.
It's that simple and equally fun.
MORE ABOUT REMOTE CONTROL WINDOW TINT
About Vario Plus, the manufacturer says,
More than a window tint. Vario Plus uses tiny crystal particles that are turned on and off via an electric signal and that can leave your window transparent or make it opaque for privacy.
In addition the laminated glass makes your window bullet resistant. 'Cause you never know!
Or maybe you DO know.
We do -- and that's why we agree with them in thinking this remote control glass with variable transparency is neat stuff.

They also offer traditional bullet proof glass as well as windows that provide protection against chemical attacks should you find yourself coming through a nasty military vehicle zone or urban warfare situation.*
Editorial Note: ... *like suburban DC traffic or being stuck on the Los Angeles, California freeways. Yes, we know -- commuting sucks. Just think how much fun you could have playing in traffic while sitting still and turning you window tint on and off. Parked on the highway, you could really freak some people out.
