Linoleum is specifically mentioned in the LEED resource manual as a rapidly-renewable resource by virtue of content - linseed oil, cork, pine rosin, jute fiber, wood flour and limestone dust, as well as organic pigments. Here is an example of what type of custom work can be done with the product with the use of the water-jet method to cut laser-perfect lines.
The design to the right was created on CAD by Kamran Bullock of Commercial Carpets of America in Alexandria, Virginia. The end-user is in Texas and the actual production of the piece, which measures approximately 4-feet in diameter, was handled by Forbo, the manufacturer of Forbo linoleum and Marmoleum Click flooring.
