Are you excited about the premiere of the sixth Harry Potter movie, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince? Would you like to meet and talk to others in NYC that are Harry Potter fans also. Then you might want to join The Group who shall Not be Named on Meetup.com.

This group of New York Harry Potter fans was founded in December 2005 and currently has 484 members. This is not just an online-only group. They have many actual in-person meetups.

The group's next meetup is obviously to see the first showing of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Many of the fans in the group will be attending the midnight showing at the IMAX Loews Lincoln Square on Tuesday night, July 14th. Many fans will be going in costumes. If that showing is too late at night, there will be another group viewing, Wednesday at 7:30 at the Regal theatre on 42nd Street in Times Square.

Not all of the meetups are for movies. They play quidditch, attend the Upright Citizens Brigade for Harry Potter improvisation and attend readings. The Premiere of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince took place in NYC on July 9th and that was one of the more exciting meet-ups for The Group That Shall Not be Named.
