At a press conference that began at 1:20 pm ET today the details for Michael Jackson's public memorial were announced. The spokesperson for the Jackson Family Ken Jackson said, "ticket distribution is all about the fans." He also said it is the family wish to provide a service for Michael Jackson for fans worldwide. Fans can register for Michael Jackson's public memorial at Staplescenter.com. Fans who get randomly chosen will receive two tickets to the service. Fans will get a wristband with their tickets, this will make sure tickets to not get sold.
Los Angeles City Council woman, Jan Perry said public safety is the goal. She urged people without tickets to stay home and watch the service on television.
How to get tickets to Michael Jackson's memorial service
Tickets for Michael Jackson's public memorial will be distributed by fans registering for Michael Jackson's public memorial at Staplescenter.com. If fans are selected at random they will be notified by email on Sunday.
The Staples Center website is receiving tremendous traffic. Please be patient and keep trying.
17,500 tickets will be released for Michael Jackson's memorial. 11,000 of those tickets will allow entrance to the Staples center. The remaining tickets will allow access to the Nokia Theatre across the street for a simulcast.
The memorial service for Michael Jackson will be held on Tuesday, July 7th at 10:00 a.m. at STAPLES Center in downtown Los Angeles, California and simulcast inside to Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE across the street.
