According to Deepak Chopra, Michael Jackson had lupus. Chopra told People magazine that "he had been diagnosed with lupus and he had vitiligo," Also saying "There's some recent research that suggests that if children have experienced either physical or verbal, mental, emotional or sexual abuse, then 20, 30 years later they can develop these autoimmune diseases including lupus."
Deepak Chopra added "Michael, he was never sexually abused but according to him, he was traumatized verbally and physically in his childhood, and it was a big issue with him."
In an interview with the Associated Press, Deepak Chopra said he had concern over Michael Jackson's prescription drug use since 2005. Jackson once asked Chopra for prescription drugs when he was staying with him following his trial on sex abuse allegations.
Michael Jackson and Deepak Chopra had been personal friends for many years. Chopra son, Gotham was also a close friend of Jackson.
