Preliminary autopsy results for Michael Jackson are in.
Craig Harvey from the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office also said the autopsy showed no sign of external trauma or indication of foul play. The cause of death has been deferred, which means the medical examiner has ordered additional testing such as toxicology and other studies, CNN reported.
The coroner's office went on to say "We anticipate being able to close the case and issuing a final cause of death." More tests are still needed, including toxicology, neuropathology and pulmonary tests. According to the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office, Michael Jackson was taking prescription medication. It has not been confirmed if Jackson taking prescription drugs ultimately lead to his death.
Many unconfirmed reports say that Michael Jackson make have died from a Demerol overdose. Jackson may have collapsed after taking a shot of Demerol. He breathing reportedly slowed down and his heart stopped.
Dr. Conrad Murray's connection to Michael Jackson
Police have spent the day searching for the doctor that was with Michael Jackson at the time of his death. The doctor has been identified as Dr. Conrad Murray.
Dr. Conrad Murray tried to revive Jackson before the paramedics arrived. For some unknown reason Dr. Murray seemed to disappear after Jackson's death.
TMZ has reported that the police will have a chance to speak to Dr. Conrad Murray very soon.
Dr. Conrad Murray's car was impounded because it may contain medications or other evidence that may assist the coroner in determining the cause of death, according to Los Angeles police spokeswoman Karen Rayner.
