The catchers are actually fortunate when it comes to the All-Star selections because there are typically three selected and often it is a challenge to find three deserving guys. I’ll do my best. Picking the reserve outfielders is another tough task, but it must be done.

Here are the catchers and outfielders:

• C – Victor Martinez, Indians
• C – Jorge Posada, Yankees
• OF – Torii Hunter, Angels (will start in place of injured Hamilton)
• OF – Carl Crawford, Rays
• OF – Adam Jones, Orioles
• OF – Curtis Granderson, Tigers (injury replacement for Hamilton)

Victor Martinez and Adam Jones are the lone representatives from their respective teams. Josh Hamilton is a great player and is slated to start based on the current fan voting, but look for Torii Hunter to pass him before voting ends because Hamilton’s injury will keep him out of the game.
