Susan B. Komen Race For The Cure event is slated for Sunday, October 18

The Hawaiian Island of Oahu has become known around the world as a place to escape, relax, rejuvenate and celebrate life.  With its 2009 Travel Pink, Travel Oahu (TPTO)  campaign, the Oahu Visitors Bureau (OVB) continues to support the fight against breast cancer by bringing together partners who offer travelers options that support the cause while vacationing in Hawaii. The fall TPTO campaign will support the Hawaii Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure by offering travel packages that benefit the organization.

These Travel Pink hotel packages include special hotel amenities and promotions. You'll also find exclusive Travel Pink activities especially created for this program. This Fall, you not only have the opportunity to Race for the Cure in the Fifteenth Annual Komen Hawaii Race for the Cure on Sunday October 18, but also to kayak for the cure, dine for the cure, surf for the cure and enjoy the Best of Oahu, all while supporting this worthy cause. Since its inception in 2006, Travel Pink, Travel Oahu has raised more than $80,000 for the Susan G. Komen Hawaii Affiliate.

“Travel Pink, Travel Oahu gives travelers an opportunity to experience a fantastic Hawaiian vacation, while simultaneously supporting an important cause locally," said Noelani Schilling-Wheeler, senior director of sales and marketing, Oahu Visitors Bureau. “First time and repeat visitors can take advantage of the great values these packages offer while enjoying Oahu’s unique ‘town and country’ experiences that are enriching and fun.”

She added, “A wide variety of tropical outdoor activities, a melting pot of arts and culture, enriching Hawaiian and American history, unique wellness treatments, tantalizing culinary experiences, and a warm friendly people full of the ‘aloha spirit,’ – that’s the ‘so much more Hawaii’ that Travel Pink offers along with providing people a reason to travel and give back."
