Bay Area Beach by Veronica Cassell
International Surfing Day of 2009 is going to be celebrated this Summer Solstice weekend in the Bay Area.  From 10 am to 12 pm, volunteers and surfers alike will gather at Baker Beach on June 20th for a beach clean-up in honor of International Surfing Day.
In conjunction with efforts around the world to clean the beaches and surf some waves on this day, the Baker Beach event will be only one of the many International Surfing Day events this Saturday.
The list of cities and countries involved in celebrating Surfing Magazine’s International Surfing Day of 2009 are numerous and expansive, and can be found here, including:
• Portland, OR
• Austin, TX
• Cocoa Beach, FL
• Vancouver, Canada
• Tacoma, WA
• Taipei, Taiwan
• Gold Coast, Australia
So, head on out to the beach on June 20th and join the multitude of surfers and beach lovers as they celebrate the beaches and surf this summer solstice weekend.  There are going to prizes, a BBQ, and great people.
