The Playstation 3 had a big first-half of 2009 with Resident Evil 5 and Yakuza 3 nearly reaching half a million in sales each. Monster Hunter Freedom Unite: PSP the Best Version (the Japanese equivalent to Greatest Hits) and Wii Fit also showed strong legs as both titles were released in 2008.
Monster Hunter Freedom Unite: PSP the Best Version has sold a total of 794,465 copies since release. That is quite impressive considering that the numbers don’t factor in the regular version, which is at more than 2,000,000 copies sold. Wii Fit also performed extremely well with an astonishing 3,433,135 copies sold since launch.
No other game has performed better in 2009 so far than Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story on the Nintendo DS however. The sequel to Mario and Luigi: Partners in Time and Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga will be released on September 14 in North America.
