Final Fantasy VII cover.

The most popular Japanese RPG proves that it still has legs more than ten years after its initial launch. Final Fantasy VII was first released in 1997 on the original Playstation and managed to break sales records.

The game was re-released as a PSOne Classic in 2009 on the Playstation Store for the PSP and Playstation 3. As expected, Final Fantasy VII became fastest selling PSOne Classic to date in just two weeks (June 2 – June 15). In total, the digital copy has been downloaded more than a 100,000 times during this span.

This is can only proved to be good news for future support regarding PSOne Classics on the Playstation Store. You can expect dozens more to come (including Final Fantasy Tactics and Wild Arms 2) by the end of the year.
