The Pentamere Winery and tasting room is located in Tecumseh. They are a city-side, small winery specializing in grapes and fruit from Michigan. Imagine wine that incorporates the flavors of tart cherries, chocolate, strawberries, or apples. Now visit the 150 year-old building that houses this fun boutique vintner.

Their wine list includes:

  • Vidal Eiswein (2005)—sweet white ice wine: Double Gold Medal Winner! A very rare and special dessert wine, made from grapes frozen on the vine. The nose is like opening a jar of honey; the flavors are honey, apricot, and pineapple.
  • Walk-in-the-Water—dry red wine: Silver Medal Winner! This blend of five red wines has a deep rich color and taste. Flavors of mulberry, tart cherry, cedar, chocolate and spice make this a great match for red meats and bold cheeses.
  • Bayport (2003)—Port-style sweet red dessert wine: This port style dessert wine has aromas of caramel, raisin, and prunes, with big luscious flavors that rival an excellent tawny port. A great pairing with chocolate, strong cheeses, and mixed nuts.
  • Sovereign of the Lakes—off-dry white wine: This crisp Riesling has aromas of apple and pear, a smooth mouth feel, and succulent fruit flavors. Serve with: scallops, shrimp, fish and other light fare, schnitzel, grilled chicken, or fried chicken.
  • Chambourcin (2003)—dry red wine: Dubbed “Great Lakes Chianti” by our customers, this wine starts with strawberry flavors and a hint of cedar, then transforms to an oak palate with a slightly acidic finish. Excellent with spicy and savory foods, garlic, blue cheese, or sharp cheeses.
  • Pinot Gris (2006)—dry white wine: This crisp white wine has a fruity aroma with hints of lemongrass. Gentle fruit flavors combine with a lush mouth feel for a pleasant, extended finish.
  • Wings of the Wind—dry white wine: This wine has a crisp clean taste with flavors of lemon and grapefruit with a hint of spice. A wonderful match with grilled salmon, herbed chicken, light cream sauces, or medium cheeses.
  • Garnet (2007)—off-dry blend of red wines: A white wine lover's red. This fruity wine has lots of red grape flavors with a subtle dry finish. Complements most anything: for example, pizza, burgers, or spaghetti.
  • Mariner's Red—sweet red wine: Aromas of cherry and anise blossom into the lush favors of mulberry jam and blackberry on the palate.
  • Celebration White—semi-sweet white wine: This semi-sweet has a fruity nose and balanced tartness. Lovers of German white wines will really enjoy this wine. Wonderful for just sipping.
  • Sunset Blush—semi-sweet white/red blend: The fruity nose of this wine starts the anticipation of a sweetness that is reminiscent of a fresh fruit salad. Great for watching the sun set. Nice with a salad, mozzarella, provolone, or golden raisins.
  • Cherries Jubilee (2004)—sweet fruit dessert wine: This is a 100% cherry dessert wine; sweet to start, then finishes tart. Great with chocolate, especially dark or devil's food! Or pour over fresh cherries and serve on ice cream, pound cake or angel food cake.
  • Michigan Cherry —off-dry fruit wine: A nicely balanced fruit wine. Not too tart or sweet, with lots of cherry flavor. Pair with turkey, ham, pork or barbeque.
  • Harvest Apple —off-dry fruit wine: A crisp fruit wine with tart apple flavors. A perfect match with poultry, roast pork, or brie and other soft cheeses.
