Leblon Cachaca serves up perfect raspberry basil Caipirinha

The perfect summer cocktail combines fresh fruits or herbs and quality spirits. Bruce Lee Krager, head mixologist at Cowboy Star, mixes up a sensational summer treat using Leblon Cachaca, VeeV Acai Spirit and summer fruit favorite,
raspberries with the special touch of basil.
Leblon Cachaca and Cachaca in general is best known for the Caipirinha drink. This simple muddled cocktail has become a welcome favorite similar to the Daiquiri, yet more complex in flavor due to muddling fruit versus using fruit juice and of course Cachaca versus Rum. Leblon Cachaca has a
unique flavor profile that lends itself rather nicely to fresh fruit cocktails. Its silky texture, gentle sugars and buttery banana tone underneath creates a wonderful backdrop for traditional and non-traditional Caipirinha cocktails.

5 Fresh Raspberries
2 pieces of Fresh Basil
3 Lime Wedges
Splash of Simple Syrup
Combine Raspberries, Basil, Lime and Simple Syrup in shaker and muddle for approximately 15 seconds. Fill shaker with ice, add Leblon and VeeV. Shake well to combine and chill. Serve in a highball glass, adding ice if needed. Garnish with a raspberry and enjoy.
Leblon Cachaca realizes some have an eye on
figure friendly cocktails as well. The
Leblon Skinny Caipirinha is an easy substitute for the classic Caipirinha with its use of Splenda. This summer, throw in a few raspberries, blueberries or blackberries for flavor and color. These berries are healthy and lower sugar alternatives to other high calorie fruits. Enjoy the flavors of the season while staying in balance.
