VeeV Blueberries - photo courtesy VeeV Acai SpiritMy refrigerator has become well stocked this summer with all sorts of berries from a season full of delicious, plump juicy favorites. One of my personal favorite berries happens to be blackberries. I would love to say it is due to some sort of health quality they possess, but in truth it is because they look so gorgeous when they are full, ripe and juicy with their clean luster. All the little blisters just beg to be plucked one by one as they release slightly tart, bountifully sweet juice of the season bite after bite on the tongue. And that my friends is just what happens before I get started on cocktails. It is difficult to keep from popping these delightful little fruit treasures in my mouth one by one while I think up cocktails to create using them. It goes without saying how wonderful they display as garnish propped atop cocktail glasses as well. So use these little succulent morsels when possible in cocktails. They are delicious and beautiful.

Now that I’ve rambled about brambles, VeeV Acai Spirit has whipped up a few cocktails using blackberries, blueberries and raspberries. All of these fruits make a weekly appearance in my refrigerator yet don’t seem to stay around long due to their exotically flavor friendly nature. All muddle well when handled gently, infuse spirits with delicate flavor personality and add soft color to cocktails that just cannot be attained with premade juices. This complements the character of VeeV Acai Spirit well since it too is a lightly flavored liqueur which plays on the exotic super fruit, Acai.
