Ventura Limoncello is California’s zesty twist on Italy’s signature lemon liqueur. This 100% natural liqueur becomes the lemon lover’s dream liqueur with no added flavorings, colorings or preservatives to enhance what nature’s bounty already offers. The simplicity of Ventura Limoncello is astounding with four ingredients: the zest from meticulously hand-peeled tree-ripened Ventura County lemons, sugar, water and alcohol. This small batch infused creation by James Carling and Manuela Zaretti-Carling, native of Italy, comes from the original recipe from Manuela’s grandmother, “Nonna.” The handcrafted nature of Ventura Limoncello reaches from handpicked lemon to hand-written batch number on the bottle label.

Meant to be served chilled rather than at room temperature, this cool refresher should be stored on ice…in the freezer that is…until you are ready to chill out. While some sip Limoncello chilled as is from beautiful stemware, Limoncello becomes an excellent sounding board for cocktails. Ventura Limoncello has recently been featured for weddings in the California Sunset cocktail (Ebell’s New Summer Cocktail). The Limosa cocktail below would also make a beautiful Mother’s Day breakfast or brunch cocktail for a fresh, lemony twist on the traditional Mimosa favorite.
