Stephen poses for a photo with children from Manhattan Bridges HS.

Stephen Colbert is a charitable man.

He continues to prove his kindness by supporting DonorsChoose.org, a website where people can select a school project, donate money to said project, and watch via pictures and thank-you notes as children all over the country recieve the necessary tools they need to succeed in school.

A new grant has just been announced called, "Double Your Impact." This program can help to fund 50 percent of teachers' classroom projects aimed at promoting college readiness. An event recently took place in which DonorsChoose.org and the Gates Foundation teamed up with Stephen Colbert to promote DC.org and this new grant.

From the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation press release: "Double Your Impact" will be funded with a $4.1 million investment from the Gates Foundation and is expected to support more than 17,000 classroom projects, touching more than 300,000 students across the nation.

The video below includes Stephen Colbert talking about the "Double Your Impact" grant.

Members of the Colbert Nation know how charitable Stephen is, but it's great to see him attending events like this and continuing to promote something he really believes in.
