Champions Online

Champions Online's latest State of the Game talks about a lot of features but before we get to the goods, let's talk about this,

Do Heroes Tweet?

And in the realm of a totally cool and completely unexpected feature, you’ll be able to send status message updates to your Twitter account via a /tweet command within Champions Online! When this goes live in the beta test, we’ll give you full instructions on how to link your game account to your Twitter account and send messages.

That's right, you'll be able to tweet from in game for those of you who A) like to Twitter things and 2) like to let people about what you're doing in an MMORPG.

The rest of the State of the Game address talks about powers, air vs. ground fights, and the crisis zones found in CO.  The talk about powers includes new descriptions and a known issue with NPCs negating powers.  The air vs. ground thing is all about balance and it touches on melee vs. ranged attacks as well.  Basically this stuff is in QA and requires balancing through feedback from CO's beta testers.  Finally, crisis zone's replayability are explored among other features of the crisis zone.  You don't need a certain number of people for these zones, nor do you need to group.  They're open missions and the ones on Monster Island and Lemuria are repeatable.

Check out the whole State of the Game article, apply for beta, and look for CO on September 1, 2009.
