
Saturday, May 2 is a big day in Prince George's county. At the Old Glory Harley-Davidson in Laurel, event organizers, participants and volunteers begin the day with the 67-mile poker run Freedom Ride for Dystonia, followed by food, music and vendors. A few miles south, off U.S. Route 1 on the University of Maryland-College Park campus, the NAMI Howard county folks and volunteers are walking in a NAMIWalk for the Mind of America. NAMI [National Alliance on Mental Illness] offers free support and educational programs to folks with mental illness and their friends and families. All proceeds go towards supporting the NAMI programs for the mentally ill. The national organization offers programs near you. More information is only a phone call or a mouse click away.
