Kevin ZralyRenowned restaurant guide Zagat and well-known wine educator Kevin Zraly have joined forces to create a new project for Zagat.com, focusing on restaurant wine lists and how to navigate them successfully. In a brief interview, Zraly gives some insight into wine list creation and pricing.

Heading out to a restaurant this evening? Check out Zagat.com's new wine guide, which was compiled by Zraly after reviewing wine lists from 115 restaurants. Restaurants are listed alphabetically, along with the number of wines on its list, percentage of wines below $100.00 and below $50.00. Other notable information is included such as a restaurant's free corkage night or other specials. If this isn't helpful enough, site users can also click on a list of Zraly's picks for a particular restaurant, which notes the type, specific wine and its price.

After his extensive wine list research, Kevn was most impressed with restaurants whose lists had 50% or more of its wines below $100.00. Some of the top performers included: Landmarc, Atlantic Grill, City Winery, Artisanal, Gramercy Tavern, Tabla, The Modern Lupa, Wallsé, Solera, The Harrison and Tavern on the Green.
