A little over a year ago, my husband took the whole family to the tattoo parlor. He decided I should have my tat redone, since it was fading. A romantic gesture from his perspective, which I thought was a waste of money; summers in Nebraska are hot, it would just fade again.
Still, we went, I sat, and after I was done, my daughter calmly walked up to the chair and sat down. “I would like a heart, please,” she instructed the tattoo artist.
Sometimes the phrase “Honey, you are six” just doesn’t cut it.
