Take this with a grain of salt, but given the era we live in, it's very possible.
Reports are coming in of The Sims 3 having leaked online to torrent sites. Screencaps are showing up on forums of the game installing and being played as proof. This news comes out two weeks before the official street date, and weeks after another high-profile media release, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, leaked online before hitting the movie theaters.
The Sims 3 will be playable on Mac OS X, Windows, iPhone OS, and others.
