Benjamin Button on Blu-Ray
Benjamin Button is worth buying on Blu-ray.

Not sure which DVD to pull off the new release shelf? Need a new Blu-ray to show off in 1080p? Or maybe you're looking through the new releases on Netflix and don't know what to add to your queue?

This week you'll find two more highly acclaimed and Academy Award nominated movies that just about cover the entire slate of films nominated from 2008. But don't miss the other rentals in more interesting genres released this week:

Curious Case of Benjamin Button - Buy-it - An epic film like nothing you've seen before -- the special effects, sets, and costumes are so spot on you'd swear they invented a backwards time machine at the studio.

Enchanted April - Rent-it - A wonderful story with wonderful acting by four women who's characters find "romance, hope and, ultimately, liberation."

Secrecy - Rent-it - Like conspiracy theories? You'll love this movie!

Momma's Man - Rent-it - A sad but whimsical comedy about growing up male.

Last Chance Harvey - Rent-it - Dustin Hoffman and Emma Thompson work beautifully together to carry this romantic comedy on their broad acting shoulders.

Wendy and Lucy - Rent-it - A short film (at 80 minutes) about a struggle with lonliness well worth your time.

Chandni Chowk to China - Skip-it - This story is as thin as its actors.    Unless you have a soft-spot for martial arts montags and Bollywood song-and-dance, skip this film!

Love Takes Wing - Skip-it - Despite a decent cast (Cloris Leachman, Lou Diamond Phillips, Haylie Duff, Erin Cottrell) this drama takes author Janette Oke's love series too far.

Plumm Summer - Skip-it - Even the name of the fictional town is lane -- Peaks View, Montana.

Smother - Skip-it - Diane Keaton and Liv Tyler are PUNK'D star Dax Shepard's latest ruined leading lady, following in the footsteps of Jessica Simpson and Amy Poehler.

Movies re-released on Blu-ray format this week:

Saturday Night Fever - Rent-it on Blu-ray - For the special features documentary and Dolby TruHD sound.

Grease - Skip-it on Blu-ray - Nothing spectacular besides 4 minutes of behind-the-scenes Travolta and Olivia.

Ferris Bueller's Day Off - Skip-it on Blu-ray - Nothing new here worth seeing in 1080p.
