Haunted Nashville
As the weather has no doubt reminded you, fall is coming on fast! In fact, we're closing on October, and you all know what that means! Yes, it's the time for buckets of candy and some great fun!
With Halloween approaching, Haunted Houses are popping up all over the country, in homes and parking lots, in schools and community centers. They're not for everyone, but for those who enjoy a good scare, October is the best month of the year, never mind the rain!
So I have endeavored to provide you with some haunting safety tips, with help from the strange and enigmatic folk at Haunted Nashville, which opens for a special preview this weekend!
Things to avoid in a Haunted House:
- loose articles (i.e. jewelry, cell phones, toys, props, etc)
- illegal or malicious activity, including drugs or alcohol
- cameras, flashlights, laser pointers, etc.
- asking for refunds
- smoking, lighters, or open flame of any kind
- weapons
- open-toed or high-heeled shoes
Admission to most haunts is considered “at your own risk.” Those with serious medical conditions (including pregnancy) should use best judgment as to whether or not attend.
The only thing you absolutely must have is your sense of adventure! Your willingness to be swept up in the fun and fright is more important than anything else!
Haunted Nashville's preview nights offer access to one of their three (wow!) attractions, the House of Distortion! Making its world debut, House of Distortion is an all-out assault on the senses that will have you scampering for your life! A dive into the realm of the electrical, chemical, and metaphysical, House of Distortion builds on general and local history, especially associated with the Tennessee Centennial and International Exposition of 1897. Science fiction and fact are scrambled here as guests explore a lost exhibit from this bygone era, and end up witnessing the horrors unleashed when humankind attempts to govern the intractable forces of the universe.
Located at 3436 Lebanon Pike, Haunted Nashville is next to Hermitage Lanes.
