Chaffin’s Barn, billed as Nashville’s most unique dining and entertainment experience, is indeed a well-loved place for food and fun. In fact, the Barn has won many awards, including the Tennessean reader’s choice award in 2008. Featuring a lovely country atmosphere, great service with a personal touch and a penchant for locally written plays, Chaffin’s offers a terrific evening’s entertainment almost any night of the week
The family owned and operated venue was opened in 1967 and has a long history of popular semi-professional productions and good food. Shows are available on a regular basis in the main theatre, which features a stage set in the round and seating for over 250 people. A smaller, more intimate second stage with about 60 seats is sometimes opened to present special productions.
Chaffin’s Barn, located at 8204 State Highway 100, is a short drive from downtown Nashville, about twenty minutes. The clearly visible traditional red building is just a couple of miles past the Warner Parks, which can be combined with a Chaffin’s dinner show to create a really wonderful day out.
Parking is free, the venue is just minutes off Interstate 40 and dinner and a Broadway style show can be had for only $50, taxes included.
The 2009 show season includes:
In addition to excellent dinner shows, Chaffin’s offers matinees, the Osborne & Eppler Performance Workshops for Young Performers, annual children’s Christmas shows, excellent discounts for seniors and military families, group rates and season memberships.
Whether resident or vacationer, you will find Chaffin’s Barn an excellent experience well worth your time. Allow me to personally recommend the chess pie and sweet tea for dessert, that you might “fill in the corners” and round out a uniquely southern experience.
