The Honda S2000 is an amazing performance vehicle from the factory. Aftermarket modifications to improve chassis rigidity, handling, and power can greatly increase the S2000 driving experience. The ultimate in Honda S2000 is building it for touge. Touge is a down hill race that occurs through a mountain pass or valley. Touge racing is considered one of the ultimate forms of automotive performance testing. Pushing both the limits of the driver and the vehicle, touge pushes the extreme when it comes to motorsport competition.

 The Honda S2000 comes from the factory with an ideal setup for touge style battles. Rear wheel drive helps to torque the vehicle around corners allowing quicker entry and exit speed if driven properly. The fastest way through a corner with a rear wheel drive vehicle is to effectively use the power to slip the rear end in the direction needed to point the nose through the corner. This technique is mastered by only the best drivers, and should be attempted on a flat track before attempting in a touge battle.

Beyond rear wheel drive, other factors of the Honda S2000 make it the ideal touge vehicle. A long chassis aerodynamically designed to reduce drag is a great benefit the S2000 brings to the table. Excellent handling, and the perfect chassis for weight displacement to improve corner response is another great way the S2000 leaps ahead of the competition. Finally, the high revving engine is the icing on the cake. With red line exceeding 8,000 RPM when modified, the S2000 has the ability to remain in the power band with plenty of gear left for a variety of touge circumstances.
