Swarovski Crystal store
All photo's provided by Swarovski

Have you heard? Swarovski is opening their first Crystallized Swarovski Elements shop on Broadway this summer. Cynthia Pino a representative for Swarovski has been wonderful to keep me updated on all the exciting things that are happening. Here is a bit of our conversation.

Will there be any 'bridal-type' event in the near future?

We are finalizing an upcomming event to show brides/bridesmaids/friends of the bride all of the possibilities available at the Swarovski Crystallized store. Bride's will be able to come in and customize jewelry in their color schemes while sipping on champagne. They can also buy crystal components to adorn their veil, shoes, handbag, or for those who want to purchase pieces as is, they can do that as well. The lounge space will also be able for private events such as showers or bachelorette parties. You will be able to come in for a relaxed event while drinking wine, munching on different canapés, and have your own instructor show you how to create the perfect bracelet.  Each person will be able to create a unique design.

When exactly when will you open - and why this kind of store now?

The store will be both a retail outlet and a lounge. We are planning a soft open end of May with the official opening event the last week of June. You will be able to purchase items or order items online via computers in the store.  You can also go down to the lounge area and have a sandwich for lunch or even a glass of merlot and a rack of lamb for dinner.

The company wanted to open a store where consumers can have a true experience working with crystals. Everyone hears about fashion designers and architects using Crystallized Swarovski Elements and now, there is an actual store which allows everyone to be their own designer, architect, or artist with the pieces in the collection.

What do you think a person will get from creating their own piece and if they just want to buy stones, can they do that?
What is the price point?

The customization really provides the opportunity to create something that is unique and special to them. Everyone wants something that really fits their personal style, and here you can do that. You can come in and work with the existing pieces or select your own pieces to create something that is one of a kind - designed by you. This store also allows for creativity in every sense for your wedding and beyond that wedding day. You can buy crystal to adorn to your table setting, glue to vases being used as your centerpieces, add sparkle to your bouquet, hang crystals from the trees at your outdoor ceremony or use them to adorn the cake table. Really the possibilities are endless.

As for the price range, the price points for finished pieces range from $40 - $160 for most of the pieces, we will also have pieces from designer collaborations including Kenneth Jay Lane and Janis by Janis Savitt that may have higher price points. We will also be selling the lips bag by Lulu Guiness which would be perfect for the night of the bachelorette party.

As for the cost of the crystal components, they range as well, starting at roughly $10. You can go to the website and view some of the other pieces available as the online portion of the store is already active.

Will there be people on hand to help in the creation process?

There will be staff on hand to assist with any in store applications.  For in-store events or rentals of the lounge, we will have the application experts on hand to guide and assist in the creation process as well. There is also an online personal stylist assistance, to help shoppers in determining the best colors for them and the best crystal shapes for the face structure.

Anything else you want the readers to know about the store?

It is a whole new concept, the first store of its kind in the US. We will offer over 2000 different colors, cuts and types of crystal for every application possible. We will also sell crystal tattoos and designs that can be applied to your clothing at home using your iron; beautiful crystals for paper products including invitations, menu cards, etc. Everything that a bride would need to make her wedding day sparkle!  We truly look forward to being in New York City in this very special store and want all of your brides to come in, take a look around and feel free to create a bit of magic.

I can’t wait until this store opens. This is great for all of you DIY brides and grooms, or anyone who is looking for a great afternoon of creativity with your bridal party. You can add a bit of bling that will really be a one of a kind, just like you.  Until next time...
