Zevia Black Cherry all natural
low carb soda with stevia

In the diet and health food world, stevia is the latest sweetener that has been saturating the market and our grocery stores.  It promises a zero calorie, zero net carb experience with no effect on blood sugar levels. Welcome Zevia brand soda to the market, the first all natural zero calorie soda that is currently offered in 6 flavors.

Being a huge Diet Coke fan, any new soda will never stack up but Zevia is different in a couple main ways.  First off, while they do offer a cola flavor, there are also 5 others (twist, orange, root beer, ginger ale, and black cherry) which should appeal to a large audience.  As opposed to your favorite low calorie soda, Zevia sees your low calorie, low carb stats and raises the bar with more all natural ingredients than you can shake a stick at.  The black cherry flavor seen to the right is "deliciously infused with 100% natural flavors from geraniums, clove buds, and spice oil from the bark of the cassia tree, ZEVIA Natural Black Cherry is naturally sweetened with stevia and made without caffeine".  Stevia and erythritol combine in a small dose to pack a monster sweet explosion.  Stevia is a natural herb and erythritol is a natural sugar alcohol found in fruits and vegetables neither of which have an effect on blood sugar levels.

The black cherry flavor tastes great, it is a wonderful change from a carmel colored and flavored soda like Diet Coke or Diet Rite.  Very sweet, full of great fruity flavors, this is definitely a perfect treat on a hot summer day.  The only drawbacks seem to be that it is hard to locate and costs about twice what regular sodas do.  While the manufacturer is working on getting their products into more locations, you can either order these online or pick them up and your local Whole Foods Markets and Harrys Farmers Markets.
