Dr. Louis Aronne, author of The Skinny: On Losing Weight without Being Hungry-the Ultimate Guide to Weight Loss Success has been making the morning television rounds promoting his new book and healthy weight loss program. Dr. Aronne is founder and director of the Comprehensive Weight Control Program at New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center.

Dr. Aronne promotes slow and sensible weight loss without extreme fatigue or hunger tactics and has this to say about rapid weight loss. " Those lose 10 pounds in 10 day promises. You might lose that much that fast, but most of that weight loss won't come from fat. It will come from the stored carbohydrate that your body starts burning for energy as well as the water that your body sheds as it does so. As soon as you start drinking more water and eating starch again, the weight comes right back."

When recently visiting ABC News on the Good Morning America Show, Dr Aronne discussed five foods that will destroy any diet: Sugary cereals and juice for breakfast, bread, pasta, alcohol, and sweets. In so many words, Dr. Aronne's message was the more sweets and starches you eat, the hungrier you will get. He also said, "It's not about willpower, but full power".

Watch the Good Morning America video and hear what Dr. Aronne has to say about the 5 foods that can destroy a diet.
