This weekend we attended the Santa Cruz Scottish Renaissance Festival. It was a beautiful day filled with many activities, royalty, pomp and circumstance, royal guards, drummers, bag pipers, and other musicians. The next series of articles will report on the people and events of this day.
This report will be on one of our favorite personalities that regularly attends Renaissance Faires. This is the Bubble Fairy. She does not provide music. What she brings to these events is a marvelous fantasy enjoyed by children and adults. Her characterization of the Bubble Fairy does not permit her to speak. She wanders through the faires pulling her little wagon filled with her magic bubble potion making bubbles – huge and small. The children that attend cannot get enough of her bubble making. They chase her bubbles blown in the wind. To use the hackneyed phrase – she has a bubbly personality, applies in many ways. She brings a sense of magic and wonder to every event she attends. When you meet her out of character, you find that she is as wondrous as her character. Her name is Lynette Lynch and she works full-time. The joy she realizes in her character is such that she cannot give it up no matter how much time it takes in her schedule. Only a giving and caring person such as she, can do so much to bring joy to the people she encounters. An event without her is one that lacks the magic and wonder she provides. Thank you Bubble Fairy, we hope to see you many more times for many more years. Please visit her Web site you will see her magic through wonderful graphics and a statement of her philosophy. You will then get a true sense of the wonder she provides.
